On
Wednesday, 21 March 2012, dozens of students visited the Educational Resources
Exhibition, which will be open until Sunday, 25 March, at the Fira de Barcelona
trade fair centre. Over the course of the five days, student volunteers,
administrative staff and teachers at the eye-catching UIC stand
will provide information on the 15 degree programmes offered by the UIC on its
campuses in Barcelona
and Sant Cugat del Vallès.

The UIC will highlight its fresh
commitment to promoting the Humanities. The University's intention is to train
professionals who are capable of transmitting human values through their
personal and professional lives. For this reason, the UIC will cover half the
enrolment fee of students who decide to study the Humanities and Cultural
Studies degree programme starting next academic year.

In the Faculty of Medicine and Health
Sciences on the Sant Cugat
Campus, the UIC is currently championing the Year of the Nurse due to its
commitment to raising the profile of the nursing profession and exploring the
true essence of nursing, that is, patient attention and care.

The
UIC's objective is not only to ensure that its students become excellent
professionals, but also to cultivate and promote other qualities that will help
them in their personal and professional development. Therefore, it attaches
particular importance to aspects such as personal advice sessions, tutorials
and coaching. The UIC operates a teaching model based on academic excellence,
personalization and maximizing student skills.

It will also use the Educational
Resources Exhibition to publicize its proven job-placement rate: according to a
report conducted in 2011 by the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency
(AQU Catalunya),
UIC graduates have an average employability rate of 95%.

The UIC
will also be present at the Futura trade show on Friday and Saturday, 23-24
March 2012, when it will present its range of more than 100 postgraduate
programmes.
