UIC Professor Carlos Espaliú Collaborates on International Law Book with Spanish Specialists

The book «Derecho Internacional Público» is a manual edited by Professor Victor Sánchez (UOC) that "stands out for its focus on people", as acknowledged by UIC Professor Carlos Espaliú, who was responsible for writing two chapters of the book.

In the words of Carlos Espaliú, "It is a fresh manual with a free, youthful and particularly clear approach. An effort was made to make it easy for students to read and understand." According to Professor Espaliú, the most important contribution of the book is that "it takes a human approach, which is not common in this field, where countries are usually the main focus."

The book includes new content as a result of the implementation of the Bologna Process and was published by the renowned Barcelona legal publisher Huygens Editorial, which also published the book Derecho de la Unión Europea, in which Professor Espaliú collaborated as well.

Carlos Espaliú Berdud has a doctorate in International Law and recently joined the UIC Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences. He was the Ramón y Cajal Professor in the Department of International Public Law at the Universidad de Córdoba and a researcher for the Garrigues Chair. He provides consulting services to different countries, international organizations and companies. He was a professor of International Law at the Universidad de Navarra (1998-2000), the secretary of the university's Institute for Human Rights (2000) and an attorney in the International Court of Justice (2000-2006).

Besides writing many articles, he has also published monographs on international law.
