UIC Student Beatriz de Tapia Wins SEPA Youth Award

UIC student Beatriz de Tapia, who is in her second year of the Master's Degree Programme in Periodontics, won the Spanish Society of Periodontology and Osseointegration (SEPA) Youth award during the SEPA congress, which was held from Friday to Sunday, 8-10 November 2013.

Tapia was awarded the prize for best clinical poster for her work “Guided Bone Regeneration and Determinant Provisionalization Techniques in Aesthetic Rehabilitation: A Case Report”. The student won a prize valued at €1,500, the publication of her article in the journal Maxillaris and free registration for next year’s SEPA congress.

The award was given as part of the SEPA congress, in which three professors from the UIC Faculty of Dentistry also participated. Dr. José Nart, Dr. Fernando de la Iglesia and Dr. Ramón Asensio led the session “Interdisciplinary Treatment to Improve the Appearance of the Periodontal Patient”, an interdisciplinary session that combined periodontics, orthodontics and restoration.
