Universidad de Sevilla and UIC Exchange Research Areas in Field of Implantology

On Friday, 20 April 2012, the Departments of Oral Surgery and Implantology at the UIC and the Universidad de Sevilla (USE) exchanged experiences in their respective research areas. It was the second congress held between these two university departments.

Approximately
80 people from both universities participated in the congress with the aim of
sharing the medical and teaching activities of two of the leading universities
in the field of oral surgery and implantology in Spain.

Throughout
the day, around twenty papers were read on the current status of oral
implantology and tissue reconstruction. In addition to this theoretical side,
there was also a practical side to the conference which dealt with high level
clinical cases and which proved very useful for all those in attendance.

Jorge
Bertos, a professor from the UIC Master’s Degree Programme in Oral
Implantology, gave a positive assessment of the conference. He said, “Students
as well as professors had the chance to demonstrate the medical and teaching
activities being carried out in the Faculty of Dentistry and the University
Dental Clinic”.

This is the
second congress to be organized with the Universidad de Sevilla. is expected to become a
regular institutional event organized on future occasions.
