The Vice-Deans of Education visit schools in Finland

Mónica Fernández and Salvador Vidal, both Vice-Deans of the Faculty of Education went on a trip to Finland as part of Educational Immersion Week, from 23 to 28 April. They learned at first-hand about the resources they have and the strategies they implement in primary and secondary schools in that particular country.

They focused on mathematical and scientific competences.  During their time there they visited various schools in the centre and south of the country, where they were able to visit the facilities and undertake observations in the classroom, as well as hold interviews with teachers and head-teachers in these schools.

Fernández and Vidal visited the Faculties of Education and Psychology at the universities of Jyväskylä and Turku, to study the possibility of arranging mobility opportunities for UIC Barcelona education students, particularly in the case of the Bilingual Bachelor’s degree in Primary and Pre-Primary Education. This new degree will be taught at out university during the next academic year.
