Vice President of Intercom Group Reveals Keys to Successful Online Selling

On Friday, 21 December 2012, Joaquim Falgueras, the vice president of the Intercom Group, gave a lecture to second-year Business Administration students.

During his
lecture, Falgueras specifically addressed online
strategy and sales. He spoke about concepts such as network economics,
information pathways and costs, and types of innovation. Falgueras used success
stories such as Google, Facebook, Spotify and the Intercom Group itself to
illustrate his points.

Falgueras also
talked in depth about the vast amount of consumer information currently held by
companies that is acquired through the IP addresses of the users themselves. This
information allows companies to achieve greater success in their campaigns.

The session was
highly participatory, especially when Falgueras explained the key to the
Intercom Group's success and how the company overcame attacks from the
competition.

Joaquim
Falgueras, the vice president of the Intercom Group, holds an advanced degree
in telecommunications and completed a Management Development Program (PDD) at
IESE Business School. His career highlights include his work at ABB, where he
was the global process implementation, IT tools and process reengineering
manager. He was one of the founding partners of the Intercom Group and took
over as CEO in 1998. He has also been the CEO of emagister since September
2002.
