Energy management

Energy management consists of optimising energy use in a rational and efficient way without diminishing output.

At UIC Barcelona, based on the results of an internal audit to determine the current state of energy consumption, we have developed an improvement plan that acts essentially on two levels to ensure the sustainable use of energy:

1. In terms of resources, with the implementation of new energy monitoring and use systems by the Department of Operations: water, gas and electricity, reviewing the lighting and air-conditioning systems with a view to increasing efficiency and reducing consumption.
2. By increasing the awareness of the entire university community, Administration and Service Staff (PAS), Teaching and Research Staff (PDI) and students, regarding the correct use of energy through environmental slogans and campaigns and promotions launched in cooperation with the Communications Department.
