Conferencia de Jordi Palomar, presidente de J. Walter Thompson Spain
On 27 April the following talk took place “Six keys to the creative process behind a brand”, given by Jordi Palomar, President of J. Walter Thompson Spain and Director of the El Sol Advertising Festival.
After more than 30 years building brands based on advertising, in his talk Jordi Palomar revealed the key points to be taken into account when tracing out the keys to the advertising trajectory of a brand: listening to consumers, describing what you do, doing so using your own personal code etc. This included up to 6 pieces of advice that were based on select examples from large prize-winning and emblematic advertising campaigns showcased at the Ibero-American Advertising Festival.
About Jordi Palomar Gimeno
His advertising career began in 1987 at Tiempo BBDO Barcelona. In 1994 he joined J Walter Thompson Spain and two years later he moved to JWT London as the DIC of Nestlé Europe. Shortly after this he returned to J Walter Thompson Barcelona also as General Director until 2004, the year he joined Delvico Red Cell as CEO for Barcelona at first and then Spain subsequently. In 2007 he took on the role of President of the J Walter Thompson Spain Group and at the same time, in 2013, took on the Presidency of the El Sol International Organisation (an organisation that manages the Iberoamerican festival) which involves managing the festival of the same name.
At the same time Jordi is also one of the professors teaching the MBA programme at the Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona, He is Co-Director of the Master’s Degree in Advertising Management in the Complutense University of Madrid, and a member of the Executive Committee in the Spanish Association of Advertising Agencies since 2007.
