Dr Puigdollers will lead the Network of Erasmus Based European Orthodontic Postgraduate Programmes (NEBEOP) with the aim of consolidating the objectives of the prestigious organisation and strengthening its key role in the field of orthodontics at European level
During the last general assembly of the Network of Erasmus Based European Orthodontic Postgraduate Programmes (NEBEOP), held in the framework of the 98th Congress of the European Society of Orthodontics, Dr Andreu Puigdollers, responsible for the Orthodontics area of the faculty, was appointed new president of NEBEOP, taking over from Guy Willems of the University of Leuven (Belgium). With this appointment, Dr Puigdollers will lead the development of orthodontics in Europe for the next two years, until September 2025.
As head of NEBEOP, over the two-year mandate, “we will work with the will to consolidate the organisation’s objectives focused on raising the quality of training orthodontics specialists throughout the continent,” explained Dr Puigdollers. To do this, the NEBEOP Board will continue its teaching task in addition to encouraging universities that are not yet part of the organisation to reach the necessary quality standards and join as new members. As Dr Puigdollers also pointed out, “we want to encourage greater collaboration between the teaching centres of different countries that allows us to strengthen personal and professional relationships between the different members.”
The Network of Erasmus Based European Orthodontic Postgraduate Programmes (NEBEOP) is made up of the directors of the Orthodontics departments that provide teaching that meets the requirements of the Erasmus Programme to train European orthodontics specialists. Each member represents a European university and must belong to the European Society of Orthodontics.
