Begona Bosch, recognised with a SEQC grant for developing the first disposable solid cosmetic
The project, led by Roman Pérez and Begona Bosch, director and researcher of the Bioengineering Institute of Technology (BIT), has allowed the first disposable solid cosmetic to be created contributing the elimination of plastics in this sector. Thanks to the grant received, Bosch presented the research at the 33rd IFSCC Congress “Rethinking Beauty Science” held in Barcelona
The prestigious grants awarded by the Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SEQC) recognise the scientific and technical projects developed by young researchers linked to Spanish and/or Portuguese universities and research centres, and that are in line with in the central theme of the congress “Rethinking Beauty Science.”
One of the three grants went to Begona Bosch, BIT head researcher, together with Roman Pérez, BIT director, for the development of the first disposable solid cosmetic, made with natural residues such as algae, shrimp and sand. The project presented is included in the area “Rethinking nature: Climate change, natural ingredients, beauty compliance, sustainability” and has allowed the researcher to present her project at the 33rd IFSCC Congress under the title “An innovative and sustainable plastic-free cosmetic and packaging.”
The Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemicals (SEQC) is a non-profit professional association, which includes more than 1000 members mainly with scientific training and who work in the cosmetics and perfumery sector. Its main objectives are to promote both scientific and technical development of cosmetics and perfumery, facilitate training and promote research in cosmetic science in our country and disseminate the exchange of knowledge in everything related to cosmetic science and related matters.
