Conference to Analyse Corporate Taxation in Final Stage of Economic Crisis

A conference jointly organized by the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences and the Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira law firm, Corporate Taxation in the Final Stage of the Economic Crisis, will be held in the UIC Graduate Hall on Wednesday, 12 February 2014. The closing address will be given by Gemà Gordó, the Catalan Minister of Justice.

The conference will address issues such as the recent tax reforms, tax offences and the possible need for corporate tax reform.

The speakers will include Dr. Jesús-María Silva, the Head of the UIC Criminal Law Department; María Begoña García-Rozado, the Assistant General-Director for Corporate Taxation; Diego Martín-Abril, the Director General for Taxation; and Dr. Luis Manuel Alonso, the Head of the UIC Financial Law Department.

The conference will include a roundtable discussion on Taxation, Growth and Competitiveness. Andrés Tejero, the Managing Director of the Family-Owned Business Institute, will moderate the discussion. The participants will include Mariano Puig, the Chairman of Puig; José Manuel Lara, the Chairman of Planeta; and Fernando Casado, the Director of the Business Competitiveness Council. The closing address will be given by Gemà Gordó, the Catalan Minister of Justice.

The conference will be the first official event of the Master's Programme in Tax Consultancy and Management.
