Dr. Navarro Highlights Values of Medical Profession at 6th SOCAMPAR Congress

Dr. M. Dolors Navarro, the director of the UIC Global Institute of Public Health and Health Policy, took part in the 6th Congress of the Castilla-La Mancha Respiratory Disease Association (SOCAMPAR) held in Cuenca on Thursday and Friday, 6-7 March 2014.

The event addressed the most relevant current issues in respiratory medicine and twenty-two scientific cases were presented. Navarro highlighted the values of the medical profession in her paper, “The Social Doctor”.

The event was declared of scientific and medical interest by the Ministry for Health, Social Services and Equality, and was attended by about a hundred respiratory specialists. Among the participants were the President of the Medical Association, the director of the Cuenca healthcare administrative area, the President of the Spanish Association for Respiratory Medicine and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR), and the President of SOCAMPAR.

Dr. M. Dolors Navarro is the director of the Global Institute of Public Health and Health Policy, the Head of the UIC Epidemiology and Public Health Department, and Vice President of the Spanish Patients’ Forum.
