Dr. Xavier Pomés Becomes Medical Advisory Board Member
Dr. Xavier Pomés is now a member of the Department of Medicine's Advisory Board. The board's mission is to advise the governing bodies for the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Medicine about strategic decisions that allow for continuous improvement in research, teaching and knowledge transfer.
Dr. Pomés, a physician and anaesthetist, was the Catalan Minister of Governance and Minister of Home Affairs from 1995 to 2002 and the Minister of Health from 2002 to 2003. He is currently a delegate of the General Curia of the Brothers Hospitallers of St. John of God for its centres in Latin America. He is also the President of the Board of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.
The Medical Advisory Board is made up of renowned professionals with healthcare exceptional experience. The other board members are Dr. Laureano Molins, Dr. Ramon Estruch, Dr. Jaume Sellarès and Dr. Ramon Pujol.
