Eduardo Conde shares the keys to successful career management at UIC Barcelona

The headhunter Eduardo Conde gave a conference on career opportunities during which he shared strategies for building a personal brand, developing a career plan and facing the challenges of the current job market

In his session entitled “Learn how to successfully manage your professional career”, Eduardo Conde, partner of the firm Seeliger y Conde, provided attendees with key tools and strategies for planning and advancing in their careers in an ever-changing working environment.

Conde highlighted the importance of self-knowledge and cultivating both skills and attitudes for professional success. In particular, he emphasised the need to identify one's own objectives, design a personal positioning strategy and develop a unique value proposition. “It is important to maintain a positive, empathetic and motivated attitude. These are highly valued elements that are prioritised in some companies to the detriment of technical skills,” said Conde.

During the conference, Eduardo Conde also offered practical advice on how to access the workplace. He stressed the importance of drafting a clear and concise curriculum, including measurable and error-free achievements. He also provided recommendations on how to successfully face a job interview, highlighting the importance of preparation beforehand, the handling of competency-based questions and the need to show enthusiasm and willingness.

The conference concluded with a call for constant self-assessment and the preparation of a "plan B" to adapt to market changes and uncertainties. Conde closed the session with the well-known phrase of Saint Augustine: “Know thyself, accept thyself, overcome thyself”, urging the attendees to work continuously on their personal and professional development.

UIC Barcelona has a graduate employment rate of 93.75%, according to AQU Catalunya, and has some 5,200 internship agreements in companies that allow students to have a close connection with the professional world. After the conference, attendees were able to learn about UIC Barcelona's range of master's and postgraduate courses and enjoy some refreshments.
