The Experience Campus, defending the rights of older people
Last month, the UIC Barcelona Experience Campus was present at the congress of the European Federation of Older Students (EFOS), in Liberec, Czech Republic. Within the framework of the conference, a joint declaration to work to protect the rights of older people was signed and presented at the UN
Isabel Elorduy, manager of the UIC Barcelona Experience Campus and Mary Fitzpatrick, coordinator of the Barcelona section, attended the EFOS congress, held in Liberec. This biannual meeting is aimed at sharing joint efforts, good practices or successful experiences of the various members of this European association of universities for older adults.
During the day, nine of the universities that are part of the agency proposed new joint projects to improve the education of students. In addition, a joint declaration was signed and presented at the United Nations (UN). The purpose of this proposal is to improve the work being done on the rights of older persons, coordinating efforts with this global intergovernmental organisation.
UIC Barcelona is one of the three Spanish universities that form part of the EFOS. The integration in this association allows the University to improve the quality of teaching to the students of the Experience Campus, in addition to the creation of joint projects with other education centres for older people.
