In this 25th edition of the awards for advertising creativity, UIC Barcelona students Carlota Monje and Carla Cañones won the first prize in the proposal by Miin Cosmetics and, Lola Durall, Ivet Berdié and Marta Sala won second prize for the proposal by Renfe
On Thursday, 23 November, the 25th edition of the International Drac Novell Festival took place at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The festival is a competition that brings business and academics together and is aimed at advertising and communication students. Among the winners, five third-year Advertising and Public Relations students at UIC Barcelona received two of the eleven trophies awarded.
The first prize in the Miin Cosmetics proposal went to students Carlota Monje and Carla Cañones for their campaign entitled “Skincare, suncare, selfcare.” The students have created a 360° marketing campaign, starting with the Miin Cosmetics brand briefing, which required raising awareness on using sunscreen. In this line, they developed a series of actions and creative solutions that managed to captivate the jury that awarded them the “Drac de Oro.”
On the other hand, Ivet Berdié, Lola Durall and Marta Sala took the “Drac de Plata” for the briefing presented by Renfe, with the campaign “Trendy Prices.” In this category, the brand requested naming, a name under which to group its lowest prices.
This year, the Drac Novell awards received more than 230 proposals from all over Spain and Latin America. It is a great opportunity for students who want to work in advertising creativity in the future, as the student Carlota Monje said: “For us, this recognition is the first step in our career, receiving this award after all the hard work is one of the greatest satisfactions we have had so far.”
