Bests Lawyers in Spain 2024, the directory that honours the most outstanding lawyers based on evaluation by their peers, has named five lecturers from the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Law as the best lawyers in Spain in their category. Pablo Molina, Ignacio Costa, Francesc Benabarre, Jaume Bonet and Deogracias Izquierdo are the five master’s programme lecturers recognised.

Pablo Molina from the Garrigues international legal and tax firm received the award in the European Union Law category and is a lecturer for Master's Degree in Law and Legal Practice (MUAP) in the subjects of Legal Advice and Administrative Litigation. Ignacio Costa received the award in the Family Business Law category and is lecturer for the Master’s Degree in Taxation Law: Planning and Guidance (MAF); Francesc Benabarre in Family Law; Jaume Bonet in Pricing; and Deogracias Izquierdo in Tax Law; these four from the Cuatrecasas law firm.

The report highlights 196 professionals in 62 categories and recognises other professionals from all over Spain as well. Among these professionals, other Faculty lecturers were also named: Xavier Amat (AVQ), Jordi de Juan (Crowe), Tizianna Di Ciommo (PwC), Fernando Jaureguízar (AVQ) and María Jesús Parra (Crowe).

Likewise, the ranking also recognises the best law firms and professional service firms in Spain. This year, EY Abogados stands out in the Tax Law category, followed by the Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions Law (M&A) specialty with recognition of ten lawyers, a fact worthy of mention since UIC Barcelona cooperates with this Big Four in M&A within the framework of the postgraduate degree in Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions.
