Stanford University has released its latest Ranking of the World Scientists: World´s Top 2% Scientists, a list that features the names of more than 185,000 top scientists from various fields. The ranking for the field of Dentistry includes the most influential researchers from the last year, based on the scientific impact of the work they published in 2020. Among them are four lecturers from the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Dentistry, Dr Federico Hernández-Alfaro, full professor and head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Area; Dr. José Nart, head of the Periodontics Area; Dr Alberto Monje, lecturer in the Periodontics Area; and Dr. Conrado Aparicio, full professor in the area of Research.

The ranking, published by information analytics company Elsevier, includes 1,485 researchers from around the world in the field of dentistry based on several parameters including the number of indexed publications, received citations, h-index, co-authorship and a composite indicator (score).
