The IESF has participated in the International Seminar “Family, a Common Good: The Family Global Compact from the Academy to the World”

The event was organised by the International Network of University Family Institutes (REDIUF), and took place on 14 November. The central theme was the Family Global Impact, an initiative that the Institute of Advanced Family Studies (IESF) of UIC Barcelona has collaborated in from its inception. Montserrat Gas, director of the Institute, spoke at the event

The seminar was attended online by more than 150 people from all over the world and was chaired by Professor Gabriella Gambino, Undersecretary of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life. The objective was to launch a large academic project based on ten projects presented during the meeting by some of the institutes which fall within the main points suggested by the Family Global Impact.

The director of the IESF presented the teaching projects of the Institute, and in particular the Postgraduate Course in Family Coaching and Guidance as a training tool for those who provide support to families from different areas.

The Institute of Advanced Family Studies has already been actively integrated into REDIUF along with other research centres in this field. In the coming months they hope to be able to create synergies with other institutes to work on the proposals of the Family Global Compact together in an interdisciplinary and international manner.
