UIC Barcelona and Klockner, manufacturer of implants and dental devices, have taken their cooperation a step further by creating the Chair for New Designs and Solutions in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Chair for New Designs and Restorative Solutions, integrated in the Faculty of Dentistry. The two entities thus strengthen their commitment to research, development of innovative solutions that improve oral health, and professional training.

The new Chair for New Designs and Solutions for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is led by Dr Federico Hernández Alfaro and coordinated by Dr Adaia Valls and Dr Oscar Salomó. With the main objective of developing new designs and solutions for oral and maxillofacial surgery, the Chair activities will be carried out around three lines of research focused on implant design and orthognathic surgery.

Dr Miguel Roig is responsible for the Chair for New Designs and Restorative Solutions, which will be coordinated by Dr Oscar Figueras and Dr Santiago Costa. This Chair will develop several projects framed in the research line digital flow in restorative dentistry and new designs and prosthetic solutions.

With the creation of the two new business chairs, the Faculty of Dentistry now has five chairs, three of which are the result of cooperation with Klocker.
