The “la Caixa” Foundation reaffirms its commitment to the UIC Barcelona Cuides Clinic to support people in the end-of-life stage
UIC Barcelona and the “la Caixa” Foundation, through CaixaBank, have renewed their cooperation agreement to care for and support people with advanced diseases who are treated in the Clinic and, thanks to the new agreement, third-generation therapies can continue to be used
The two entities strengthen their commitment to society, providing comprehensive support for the care of people with advanced diseases, especially the most vulnerable.
This new agreement will allow technological advances to be applied in medication administration and it will be possible to develop a virtual reality programme for third generation therapies. This will help many of the patients who are treated the UIC Barcelona Cuides Clinic to face the final transition of life.
The use of these therapies is added to the different resources available to the Psychosocial Care Team (EAPS) of the UIC Barcelona Cuides Clinic, which supports patients and their families through a care model centred on the person, their values and preferences, and that contemplates the different psychosocial and spiritual dimensions.
