Law student Bruno Reguart, runner-up in the European Handball League
Bruno Reguart, UIC Barcelona law student and centre back of Fraikin Granollers, was proclaimed runner-up of the European Handball League after losing against Füchse Berlin (36-31) on Saturday, 27 May. Granollers made it to the European final after defeating German Göppingen (31-29) in the semifinals
The Catalan centre back closes a European season with high stats in which he has accumulated 26 goals. Reguart, speaking to the European Handball Federation, assured that his performance is due, among other things, to the number of quality minutes he is playing in this kind of matches, “they give you that additional experience and that makes you grow as a player,” Reguart explained.
Reguart is part of the Sport Talent programme, which allows professional and high- performance athletes to combine elite sport with their university degree programme. Currently, 38 UIC Barcelona students, 23 women and 15 men, are part of this programme that was launched in 2021 and gives these student athletes a series of rights to help them reach their maximum performance in academics as well as sports.
