Every year, Els Mossos d'Esquadra, the Catalan regional police force, recognises members of state security forces, local police, medical services, rural agents and citizens, whose meritorious actions have gone beyond their professional obligations.

During the event, held as part of the 2023 Girona Regional Police Force Day, Dr Anna Hospital was awarded the Bronze Medal with blue ribbon for her career in leading the resolution of court cases and her important achievements in forensic medicine and, particularly, in the field of forensic dentistry, in which she is a leading figure.

This recognition comes in addition to the Medal of Honor from the Department of Justice of the Generalitat de Catalunya, received in 2016 “for her exceptional services to justice” and the Cross of St. Jordi, received in 2017 in recognition of her work in the field of disaster victim identification in major catastrophes.
