The four-session course organised exclusively for class representatives and assistant class representatives ended on 16 March. This course took place almost simultaneously on both Sant Cugat and Barcelona campuses, and 152 students participated.
It was divided into four sessions throughout the academic year in which different aspects like leadership, conflict, stress management technique and other topics were discussed.
In the first session, they were introduced to the world of representation and what is involved in being a class or assistant class representative at UIC Barcelona. The structure of the University was explained along with the channels of communication that can be used for requests, needs and problems that may arise.
The second session was given by Isabella Meneghel from the area of Psychology and Mental Health. The objective was to stimulate positive leadership and focus on the figure of class rep as someone who accepts responsibility and is a good class leader.
The third session was given by Claudia Lopez Madrigal, also from the area of Psychology and Mental Health. During the session students learned about stress management techniques and dealt with scenarios based on real life situations.
Finally, the fourth and final session was given by coach Maria Mateos Gamarra from law faculty, who discussed conflict resolution techniques.
This course is held every year with the intention of helping and making the most of the students who undergo the adventure of being class reps and assistant class reps.
