Prof. Guallar Publishes Book on Content Curation with Consultant Leiva-Aguilera

Javier Guallar, a UIC professor for the Final Degree Project in Journalism, and Javier Leiva-Aguilera, an independent consultant, have recently published the book El Content Curator. Guallar specializes in journalism information management and content curation. Leiva-Aguilera is a trainer in web communications strategies, online reputation management, digital content organization and content curation.

The book is aimed at professionals responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating content curation systems. These professionals must be able to filter out the best content on the Internet for a particular audience. Instead of adding more clutter to an ever-growing network already overloaded with content, these experts apply the four S's of content curation: search, select, sense and share.

El Content Curator is a basic guide to this new profession that presents the reader with the theoretical foundations of Internet content management, a strategy to follow during the four phases of a content curation project (seeking, selecting, classifying and disseminating content) and the main tools needed to implement the strategy.

The book takes both a theoretical and a practical approach to the system of content curation. It aims to guide content curators in the management of online content and offers a good starting point for anyone interested in this subject.
