The Terrassa Health Consortium (CST), recognised as a UIC Barcelona university hospital
This recognition represents a qualitative leap for both institutions in the teaching and research field, and allows University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences students to carry out part of their practical training
The Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya has recognised the Terrassa Health Consortium (CST) as a university hospital linked to UIC Barcelona. Therefore, the two entities reaffirm their commitment to teaching and research in the field of health.
The Terrassa Health Consortium offers comprehensive healthcare for the population living in the healthcare area of Terrassa and its area of influence, and has all the necessary equipment to train students from the different disciplines of health sciences who are taught at the UIC Barcelona Sant Cugat Campus. Specifically, as a university hospital, students in Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Psychology degree programmes will be able to do their clinical practices.
The incorporation of the CST to UIC Barcelona University Hospitals strengthens the cooperation agreement already existing between both institutions to contribute to the comprehensive training of future health professionals and the incorporation of some CST physicians to the University teaching staff . Thus, the Terrassa Health Consortium joins the General University Hospital of Catalonia, the University Hospital of Granollers and the EAP Sardenya primary care team as university healthcare centres of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
