UIC Barcelona among the best universities in the world in the discipline of Dentistry, according to the QS ranking.
For the first time, UIC Barcelona is classified in the prestigious international QS World University Ranking by subject in the discipline of Dentistry and is among the 80 best universities in the world, occupying position 51-80 worldwide. There are only two universities classified in this area at the national level; the Universidad Complutense de Madrid followed by UIC Barcelona.
UIC Barcelona received an overall score of 66.10 in the field of Dentistry. The highest results were in the “research citations” indicator with a score of 82.4. However, according to this 2023 ranking, “employer reputation” is the indicator best valued at a national level.
In this edition of the QS-WUR by subject ranking, 54 disciplines divided into 5 major areas were analysed: “Arts and Humanities”, “Engineering and Technology”, “Life Sciences and Medicine”, “Natural Sciences” and “Social Sciences and Management” were used to rank 1,594 institutions in 161 countries.
In the discipline of Dentistry, UIC Barcelona was one of only 80 institutions that were classified out of 523 institutions assessed worldwide.
The QS-WUR by subject ranking analyses different areas and disciplines by reputation among academics and employers, and the amount and impact of their research. These indicators are recalibrated to adapt to each area and discipline individually, as research and publication may vary significantly between different academic disciplines.
In this 2023 edition, the QS ranking team analysed over 16.4 million unique papers published between 2016 and 2020, and about 117.8 million citations between 2016 and 2021.
The objective of the UIC Barcelona Statistical Data and Rankings Office is to measure the performance of different aspects of the University through data and evidence, allowing it to be visible both nationally and internationally through the social impact produced by rankings and listings.
