The UIC Barcelona Faculty of Law, present at the 30th Conference of Law Deans
María Fernández Arjo and Montserrat Gas, dean and vice dean of Teaching and Research, respectively, participated in the 30th Conference of Law Deans, which brought together more than 50 faculty representatives from all over Spain. The conference took place in Pamplona, on 19 and 20 October, and was organised by the University of Navarra and the Public University of Navarra
This meeting brought Spanish Law Faculties together to address current issues for university legal training centres. This latest edition focused on issues related to implementation of the Organic Law of the University System (LOSU) and its supplementary regulations.
The conference maintains open communication with the Ministry of Universities and its subordinate agencies. The participation of Maria Fernandez Arjo and Montserrat Gas was an opportunity to strengthen ties between universities and reach consensus on the aspects in academic system that need improvement.
Among other interventions, worthy of mention was that of Susana Quicios Molina, director of the Teacher Evaluation Division and secretary of the CNEAI. Quicios focused her intervention on the main novelties of RDL 678/2023, a decree which regulates state accreditation for access to university teaching bodies. On the other hand, the challenges of the specificity of law as a branch of knowledge in the field of research was also addressed.
