The International Conference of Alumni Institutions has held a new edition of the annual training day at UIC Barcelona. This year the meeting was on the theme of “The paradigm of Artificial Intelligence in Alumni Management” and consisted of two training presentations and a discussion between the different representatives of university institutions.
During the welcome speech, rector of UIC Barcelona Alfonso Méndiz, spoke about how the ex-student is, “a fundamental pillar for our universities, being our ambassadors in all areas of society”. The president of the Conference of Alumni Institutions, Carmen Jiménez, took the opportunity to welcome and thank new members, and announced future additions to the conference.
The first session, given by Daniel Amo, lecturer from de La Salle, consisted of an introduction to artificial intelligence (AI). The conference comprehensively outlined the challenges, dangers and possibilities of the new paradigm. An in depth retrospective of ChatGPT, its internal processing structure, the different myths that exist and a positive reflection on the tools derived from AI as problem solvers, were all addressed by the de La Salle lecturer.
Later, expert consultant in artificial intelligence Borja Garzón explained some of the free tools that we can find on the Internet.
The meeting ended with questions and an exchange of experiences by attendees.
