UIC Barcelona welcomes 251 international exchange students

The International Relations Service organised a day to welcome and present UIC Barcelona to the new international exchange students. This academic year, the University welcomes 251 students representing 31 nationalities

On the 2 September, the Barcelona Campus hosted a day of different activities to welcome all the exchange students who will be at UIC Barcelona for the first semester or indeed for the whole year.

Students attended a presentation to learn about all the services offered by the University, beyond the curriculum, and receive information about the International Relations Service. As just one of the many initiatives led by the Department of Language Services, students have access to language courses in Catalan, Spanish and English, which help the students to integrate into the university.

The students then participated in cultural activities to meet other exchange students. As part of the Buddy Programme, the Meet Your Buddy activity took place, where local students help the international students discover first-hand what the life and culture of Barcelona is like. Over 100 international students have enrolled in the Buddy Programme this semester. It is a programme that offers students the chance to participate in a wide range of activities in a multicultural environment, meet new people, improve interpersonal skills and actively contribute to the university community.

On Saturday 7 September, the international exchange students will go on a treasure hunt through the centre of Barcelona so they can discover everything they need to know about the city.
