The Universidad de León won the Spanish 3-on-3 Basketball Championships in both the men’s and women’s divisions. Eleven universities from all over Spain participated in the championships, which took place on Saturday and Sunday, 24-25 May 2014, at the Moll de la Marina in Barcelona.

In the championship game, the Universidad de León’s men’s team defeated the Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, while its women’s team defeated the Universitat de Barcelona.

The event, hosted this year by the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, had the support of Barcelona City Council, the Catalan government, the Spanish Sports Council, the Spanish Committee for University Sports (CEDU), the Catalan Basketball Federation and the Catalan University Sports Association (ECU), and was sponsored by Spalding, RedSport, Coca-Cola and Gymadvisor.com.

Dr. Belén Zárate, the Vice Rector for the UIC University Community, presented the awards.
