Actions

1.1

  • Increasing self-study tasks for students (demanding homework)
  • Ensuring the inclusion of content with a focus on sustainability, cooperation, social responsibility, entrepreneurship, innovation and healthcare.
  • Encouraging academic excellence among students through special mentions for the best student from each degree and year.
  • Promoting advice as a factor that makes a difference to a comprehensive student education.

  • Defining a plan for humanistic education at UIC Barcelona to promote a liberal education in both bachelor's and master’s degree degrees.
  • Establishing specific ethical and humanistic skills for each bachelor's and master’s degree degree, and establishing and implementing a plan to develop and evaluate them.
  • Establishing extracurricular education actions that complement the humanistic education tailored to each student's degree.

  • Determining the skills required by employers and aligning these skills with the curriculum for each degree
  • Encouraging participation in extracurricular internships.
  • Drawing up a ten-point list of the skills and qualities that characterise students at UIC Barcelona (CapaciUIC Programme)

Competent Academic Staff

  • Designing and implementing a class observation plan for classroom lectures
  • Implementing a comprehensive methodology and humanistic education that is compulsory for all faculty staff

  • Encouraging academic staff to reflect on and analyse their teaching ability, and to integrate the results of student surveys
  • Promoting the use of online teaching methods (Moodle) to improve teaching
  • Promoting initiatives and proposals for innovative teaching

Academic curriculum and planning

  • Overcoming the accreditation process for degree programmes.
  • Establishing measures to ensure that courses meet the percentage of doctors and qualified staff required by law
  • Implementing the necessary mechanisms to ensure that bachelor students have the required language level, as defined by legislation, before graduating
