International volunteering

Organised by: Cooperating Volunteers works together with other associations (NGOs, schools, hospitals, orphanages, etc.) so that volunteers can help the needy populations in a safe and responsible way.

Objective: You can choose which programme to cooperate with: Childcare programme in an orphanage, reception centre or nursery school through recreational and educational activities. Teaching programme in primary schools (ages 4 to 17). Medical volunteer programme* helping in the day-to-day tasks of a hospital. *Student or professional certificate is required. Dates: A minimum of two weeks at some point during the months of June, July and August.

Estimated cost: €450 for two weeks including meals and accommodation (flights, visa, local transport, vaccines and travel insurance not included).

Organised by: Rafiki Projects For Development is a Tanzanian non-profit organisation that works in the Arumeru district of Arusha, northern Tanzania. The organisation is dedicated to encouraging development in different communities and reducing social inequality through educational and health projects. 

Objective: Educational programme: Organising and running workshops and activities for children with special needs. Social programme: At the Social Centre, volunteers collaborate towards organising workshops based on their experience and training. Care programme for elderly people who have trouble meeting their basic needs (food, water, access to sanitation). Organised by: The Colegio Mayor Bonaigua is a women’s residence and university centre that offers academic, cultural, sports, and charity activities in addition to room and board, as well as a humanist and Christian education from a holistic perspective, as well as a humanist and Christian education, from a holistic perspective.

Objective: Volunteer at a Summer Camp for children from a disadvantaged neighbourhood in Athens. Support families in danger of social exclusion. As Greece is the European country that receives the highest number of refugees, volunteers will also take part in several social inclusion projects aimed at this area. 

Dates: From 1 to 14 July.

Estimated cost: €300 plus the cost of the flight.

Organised by: The Colegio Mayor Bonaigua is a women’s residence and university centre that offers academic, cultural, sports, and charity activities in addition to room and board, as well as a humanist and Christian education from a holistic perspective.

Objective: In the city of Recife, Brazil. In the mornings, volunteers will carry out home visits to cover the needs of local residents and gather relevant data for the city council, in conjunction with the Brazilian Department of Education. Volunteers will also visit a children’s home where educational, health and recreational activities and workshops will be held. 

Dates: From 8 to 22 July.

Estimated cost: €1,300 per person.

Organised by: Funadació Montblanc is a private foundation, of a cultural and welfare nature, established in 1998 by a group of Catalan professionals united by the desire to promote human development with special emphasis on the protection of children and young people.

Objective: Volunteer with the Comboni Missionaries in Jordan to organise and run a Summer Camp for children of refugee families.

Dates: from 14 to 29 July.

Estimated cost: €900 per person.
