UIC Barcelona moves up in the 2024 Times Higher Education Young University Rankings

The Universitat Internacional de Catalunya is ranked 201-250 among the best universities worldwide

UIC Barcelona has moved up in the 2024 Times Higher Education Young University Rankings. Worldwide, the university occupies position 201–250 of 673 classified universities, and nationally is in 8-16th position of 32 Spanish universities.

In this edition, UIC Barcelona has improved its results compared to the previous year in three of the five pillars that make up the ranking: teaching (+7.2%), research environment (+3.7%) and international outlook (+2.2%).

With this classification, the University remains among the top three Spanish universities in the area of international outlook and in the percentage of international students.

THE Young University Rankings provide a ranking of the best universities in the world founded in 1974 to the present day, i.e. those 50 years old or younger.

A total of 673 universities were ranked in the 2024 edition, compared to 605 in last year's edition, as 68 new universities were added to the international rankings.

The methodology used in the Young University Rankings is based on the same eighteen performance indicators used in THE World University Ranking that measure the different areas of a university: teaching, research quality, research environment, industry and international outlook, adjusting weights to suit the profile of young universities.

The objective of the UIC Barcelona Statistical Data and Ranking Office is to measure the performance of different aspects of the University through data and evidence, allowing it to be visible both nationally and internationally through the social impact produced by rankings and listings.
