For the second year in a row, teachers and students from the Faculty of Dentistry of UIC Barcelona have travelled to Madagascar under the Edugascar programme to offer dental care and oral health training to schoolchildren and their families in vulnerable areas

A study carried out among more than a thousand participants by the Research Institute for Evaluation and Public Policies at UIC Barcelona and the Red Cross found that education is the most effective strategy for promoting healthy eating habits.Delivering workshops on nutrition is more effective than sending an SMS with nutritional information, although both are more important than providing a financial incentive.

More than 170 UIC Barcelona students have presented their project proposals for the caring for the planet, as part of the 15th edition of the Cross-Disciplinary Sustainability Workshop held yesterday, 14 November. The workshop ended with the session-colloquium “Consecuencias geopolíticas del tratado de París [Geopolitical consequences of the Paris Treaty],” by Dr Josep Garí, senior  policy advisor, UNDP – United Nations Development Programme

The latest edition of the Cross-Disciplinary Workshop on Sustainability, organised by the Office for Cooperation and Sustainable Development, took place on 25 November. “Climate action, health and social commitment” was the theme and nearly 200 students, divided into 46 groups, presented their research projects. The two winning groups were from the Faculty of Education Sciences

On 6 and 7 October, UIC Barcelona lecturers Silvia Albareda from the Faculty of Education Sciences and Elisa Rechadera from the Faculty of Communication Sciences and medical students participated in the “1st International Conference on Sustainable Curriculum and ODS in University Education,” organised by the Universitat de València.

The event titled “Water for a Sustainable World” and led by the Office for Cooperation and Sustainable Development focused on SDGs 6, 13 and 17 and filled the Barcelona Campus with practical projects and scientific posters
